After a demanding school year, what kid doesn’t want to unwind and play? And that’s exactly what kids get at Sport to Success. But not just play: play with purpose. It’s said that it’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. We say: it’s who you’ve become by the end of the game. With the right guidance and coaching, sport can be a means to developing self esteem, strategic thinking, teamwork, leadership, and so much more.
Some of the sports and games include basketball, soccer, touch football, capture the flag, and even some games we’ve developed, such as “clanhunt”or “carry the cargo.” In each sport, kids will learn not just the rules and skills of the game, but the etiquettes of sportsmanship, strategies for improvement, how to lead, how to follow, how to grow from both victory and loss, and more.
Those who have experienced our dynamic delivery style–whether on the soccer field, on the basketball court, at summer camp, or even just on the playground–can attest to the growth that can happen through play.
In addition to play, the boys will work on their very own “Growth Atlas” each day.
Growth Atlas helps boys:
- Discover and develop their life purpose based on their God-given gifts, their passions, and their ideals;
- Determine their most important, “breakthrough,” goal to help them achieve their purpose;
- Identify the resources they need to achieve their breakthrough goals;
- Establish routines to move daily toward their goal.
Once young boys discover their purpose and acquire the tools they need, they have the strength and confidence to succeed in all areas of their lives, insha’Allah.
